NATURE PROTECTION MINISTER: CREATION OF NATIONAL PARK WILL CONTRIBUTE TO SHIRAK'S DEVELOPMENT

The creation of a national park on Lake Arpi will enable to contribute to the stable rural development in the northern regions of Shirak, Nature Protection Minister Aram Harutunyan told reporters today. In his words, this program will enable to develop summer and spring tourism in the region, energy production and several other processes. ''We understand very will that with the help of the program it will be possible to turn the exploitation of the traditional land into more prospective field and to make the region more attractive for the international community,'' Harutunyan said.

German Ambassador to Armenia Andrea Viktorini assured that the three components of the project relate to the flora and fauna of the region. He underscored works aimed at the development of Shirak region.
