No cases of African Plague were reported in Armenia in the course of recent two weeks, Gevorg Tovmasyan, food safety and cattle breeding state inspection deputy head, told Panorama.am. In his words, in all those spots where African Plague was detected no animal died due to the infection. “However, we monitor the situation. If it continues like this, we can say in two months that the illness has faded away,” Tovmasyan mentioned.
Today in Azerbaijan African Plague was reported for the first time, Azerbaijani mass media reports say. The infection was detected in Nij village of Gabala region. Quarantine is announced in the village. The number of killed animals is not known yet.
