“TO FIND COMMON THINGS WITH TURKISH”

In these days nearly every week some new books devoted to the Armenian Genocide are being published in Diaspora, said the chairman of the Writers’ Unity Levon Ananyan. “The language and style of fiction are talking about the genocide as the scientific literature presents data and facts, whereas fiction is rich with emotions, and fatality,” he said.

“For a foreigner it is easier to write about the genocide as they treat it not the genocide of Armenians but genocide of all mankind,” said Ananyan.

He named several foreign writers who created books covering Armenian Genocide: Gonsalo Guachi, Orhan Pamuk and Kemal Yachemis: note that the latter two ones are Turkish writers.

“In this new age we need to work with the Turkish Society as first the public should be conscous and offer proposals to tge government and after they will revise the facts,” he said and added that we need to start dialogue with Turkey by means of books and culture.
