HAMSHEN ARMENIANS’ WEEK

On 21-27 July Hamshen Armenians Week will be organized and conducted in Yerevan. The initiative belongs to the Institute of Western Studies, Narekatsi Art Union, “Yerkir” NGO, “Bagaran” NGO, announced Ruben Safrastyan, the director of the Western Studies Institute.

In this week an exhibition devoted to the history and culture of Hamshen will be held, as well as a concert, scientific conference.

“This is the first time such conference is to be hold in Yerevan, the mission of which is to present in a scientific way the Armenians who became Mahmedians, that is to say Hamshen Armenians,” said R. Safrastyan. As the conference is an international one, experts from Russia and Turkey are invited.
