GNC-Alpha to launch IP transit service to Armenian internet providers

Starting from October 15 GNC-Alpha is launching IP transit service (wholesale Internet) to the Armenian internet providers. The service became available after our company started exploiting Yerevan-Agarak sector of its network and carried out the interconnection of the latter with Iran’s fiber-optic network. Thus, Armenia got a reliable alternative outlet to the world’s telecommunications systems through the Iranian territory.

According to the statement, GNC-Alpha network is supplied with the telecommunications modern equipments and a number of major Armenian providers have been provided opportunity to use it since October 1. Basing on the positive echoes received, the company is committed to launching the commercial service provision. The company highly signifies continual reduction of Internet prices. “We are sure the access of the new telecommunications operator into market will have a positive impact on the reduction of prices. Our launching prices, which are available in www.gnc.am, are even lower than those offered in the Armenian market by now. Currently we are conducting the construction of GNC-Alpha northern sector. Its exploitation is scheduled at the beginning of 2010 and two other international outlets through the Georgian territory will be provided. The construction of the northern sector will provide wider opportunities for the Internet and transfer of the data, the availability of the international transit services will be ensured in Armenia,” the message reads.
