Michael Jackson nominated for American Music Awards

Nominations for the 37th annual American Music Awards included Michael Jackson, the late King of Pop, foreign media reported.

The American Music Awards nominations were unveiled today in Los Angeles by the terrific trio Adam Lambert, Paul Abdul and Snoop Dog. Among the nominees is the late Michael Jackson.

Although country singer Taylor Swift currently has the largest number of nominations, 6 in total, for the 37th annual American Music Awards, Michael Jackson is a close second with 5. The nominations include "Favourite Male Artist", "Favourite Album", "Artist of the Year". Following Michael Jackson is Eminem, Beyonce, Black Eyed Peas, Lady Gaga, Kings of Leon and T.I.

In addition to the nominees, including Michael Jackson, a preliminary list of performers was also announced for the 2009 American Music Awards including Alicia Keys, the Black Eyed Peas, Jennifer Lopez and Adam Lambert.

The 37th Annual American Music Awards is scheduled to air on Sunday, November 22. Winners are determined by voting at ama.abc.com, amavote.com, and mycokerewards.com.
