Armenia’s education system to meet European standards

Large-scale reforms are due to be conducted in Armenia’s education system, in accordance with Armenia-EU cooperation plan, National Security Council press office reported. A reform plan is to be worked out in a four-month term, the working group for the approval and implementation of the EU education program in Armenia resolved at a sitting chaired by the Secretary of the National Security Council Artur Bagdasryan on November 6. The plan missions at coordinating the education system in Armenia to the European standards.

Highlighting the necessity of the reforms in the Armenian education system, Artur Bagdasaryan said that the education programs and principles should correspond to the European standards and inter-university cooperation mechanisms should be established between Armenia and the EU member states. He highlighted that new opportunities for training and qualification should be developed, and the reinforcement of education-economy ties should be ensured.

The reforms suppose promotion of scientific cooperation, a general strategic activity, development of educational institutions meeting the European standards.
