Swine flu cases rise to 11 in Armenia, Assistant to the Healthcare Minister Shushan Hunanyan told Panorama.am. The number has reached 11 from 6 estimated yesterday.

Sh. Hunanyan said, one of the recent 5 cases is an airport taxi driver, the four others are one family members.

According to her, one of the four family members has recently returned from Omsk. Three days after his arrival, he observed swine flu symptoms. Following the medical examination, swine flu was confirmed.

By that time, the civilian having arrived from Omsk, infected three more members of his family.

The patients have been taken to Nork hospital with A/H1N1 symptoms and the laboratory test confirmed they are infected with swine flu.

Currently 3 among the 11 infected are out of hospital, the condition of the other patients is estimated as moderate, Sh. Hunanyan said.

Note that 3 patients have arrived from Russia, 2 from Iran, another patient is from Turkey. The others are Armenian citizens.

A/H1N1 has arisen flurry in the region. By now, Georgia has confirmed 58 swine flu cases. The number reaches 14 in Azerbaijan, while Turkey estimated 145 people infected.
