Turkey’s State Minister urges Azerbaijani to trust Erdogan

Egemen Bagis, Turkey’s State Minister for European Affairs, said during a meeting with Turkish diaspora representatives in Sweden that their Azerbaijani brothers should trust Erdogan when he says that the borders with Armenia will not open without the settlement of the Karabakh conflict, Hurriyet newspaper reports.

"Erdogan's words should be trustes. But we should negotiate to reach peace," Bagis said.

The Turkish official’s statement provides serious basis for Azerbaijan to think that in the upcoming future Ankara is not at all intent to make demands or put forth preconditions for the sake of Baku in its relations with Yerevan, but is merely going to be a negotiating party.
