Bulgaria rescinds swine flu epidemic

Bulgaria’s Health Ministry officially rescinded Friday the national swine flu epidemic, foreign media reports. The Ministry cites as the reason for the move the fact that the number of infected with the A(H1N1) virus is now under 190 people from every 10 000 Bulgarians. In regions where the infection rate is still higher, the local pandemic committees have the authority to order additional measures, according to the situation at hand. The revocation of the epidemic means that planned surgeries, the immunizations and the exams of pregnant women as well as pediatric exams can be resumed.
