No new swine flu cases confirmed in Armenia: waiting for first portion of vaccine

No new swine flu cases have been confirmed in Armenia during the recent days, chief infectiologist Ara Asoyan told Panorama.am. He also said, currently no swine flu patients are being treated in Nork infection clinic.

Another Healthcare Ministry official Artavazd Vanyan told Panorama.am that the absence of new cases does not assume that the WHO will not provide Armenia with vaccine.

“Currently talks are under way with the WHO to receive the vaccine earlier than scheduled,” he said.

According to the preliminary agreement, Armenia should be provided the A/H1N1 vaccine in January.

Panorama.am recalls that since November 24, Armenia has not confirmed new swine flu cases.
