Armenia to close schools next week over flu pandemic

5 more A/H1N1 cases have been confirmed in Armenia bringing the total number to 35, the Assistant to the Healthcare Minister Shushan Hunanyan told Panorama.am.

As she said, Healthcare Minister ordered to distribute Tamiflu to all the clinics.

Sh. Hunanyan said Healthcare Minister Harutyun Kushkyan and Education and Science Minister Armen Ashotyan have addressed a joint offer to the government and President over closing schools earlier than scheduled.

The Assistant said, the schools are possible close next week.

Remind that the chief infectiologist Ara Asoyan told Panorama.am that taking into consideration flu shows high tendencies to break out, schools, kindergartens, universities should be closed urgently.

Panorama.am recalls that the swine flu main symptoms are: high temperature, headache, muscle pain, cough, sore throat; vomiting and diarrhea are also possible. People are urged to wash with soap, not to kiss, not to use others’ lipsticks or cell phones.
