Number of swine flu cases hits 40 in Armenia: no pandemic alert

The number of swine flu cases confirmed in Armenia hit 40, though, there is no need to panic, the situation is under control, Healthcare Minister Harutyun Kushkyan told a press conference today. He recalled that Armenia undertakes all prevention measures.

“There is no pandemic in the republic at the moment,” H. Kushkyan assured.

The minister said, any contact with those infected should be avoided and urged to use 3 liters of water daily.

Referring to the spread of the virus among the children recently, he said the decision over closing schools and kindergartens for the period of December 8-19 merely aims to prevent the pandemic break-out.
