Russia has world's second largest uranium reserves

Russia’s atomic industry ranks second in the world for its uranium reserves, Director General of Rosatom State Atomic Energy Corporation said Friday, according to Dni.ru.

“We have high indexes of natural uranium export. The reserves scales have boosted for over 5 times for the recent years and we have recorded increase of mining scales for 25%,” he said.

According to Kirienko, due to the world economic crisis there was decline in uranium prices with some exporting countries, though, Russia managed “to obtain actives for quite good prices.”

That’s why, Russia is now second in the world for its uranium reserves, he highlighted.

Kirienko also said, Russia managed to enter the world atomic market, first of all, the USA.
