US woman claims she spread AIDS virus

People from all over the country are calling Detroit police after a woman posted a video on the Web saying she infected men with the AIDS virus, police say, according to foreign media.

In the eleven-minute, expletive-laden video posted on the Website Mediatakeout.com, the woman with a partially-veiled face claims to have infected more than 500 people since contracting HIV in 1998.

Detroit Police say they've located and identified the 24-year old woman in the video. She has acknowledged the video is a scam and she's not trying to infect victims with the AIDS virus. Detroit police say the woman has agreed to provide a blood sample for immediate testing.

In Michigan it is a felony to knowingly transmit HIV.
