“I’m artist busy with my stuff” vs. “I can’t differentiate between their past and future”

“Surely, we’ve tensed ties with Azerbaijan and Turkey. But we forget that people and politics are two different things. We shouldn’t throw stones on them but instead we should explain them that their country is wrong. Artist wants communication with his foreign colleagues. I’m an artist and I’m busy with my stuff.

It’s quite possible that I take the same stage with an Azerbaijani,” famous Armenian duduk player Djivan Gasparyan told at news conference answering to the question whether it’s possible for him to take stage with Azerbaijani Hasanov whose biggest dream is it. Djivan Gasparyan said that a 15-year-old little Turkish boy shouldn’t be accused of his grand grandparents’ murder in 1915.

“We should keep it in our minds and not tense peoples against each other,” he said.

Armenian honored artist Arsen Grigoryan (Mro) who was also present at the conference expressed quite opposite view point.

“If we’re talking about Turks, I’ve got a little bit different point of view. I can’t differentiate between their past and present, since the same 15-year-old boy puts flowers on the graves of those murderers of 1915.”

He said it happened he was invited to Turkey to have concerts there, but his answer was always no: “When that ordinary Turk stops putting flowers on those murderers’ grave I’ll need to think then.”
