Hamadoun Touré: Sphere of telecommunication in Armenia registered serious advance

Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan received today the Secretary General of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), Hamadoun Touré. According to President’s press office, greeting the guest, President voiced hope his visit would be a significant step for further intensification of bilateral ties and reinforcement of cooperation. Serzh Sargsyan said the reforms in the field of telecommunication in Armenia are also result of cooperation with the organization.

ITU Secretary General said the sphere of telecommunication in Armenia has registered serious advance for the recent years.

The parties talked on information technologies, telecommunication issues and the perspectives for their development.

Hamadoun Touré said the organization will continue cooperation with Armenia in three main directions: development of skills, sphere management, digitalization of TV broadcasting.

President Sargsyan signified the assistance of the organization over trainings of Armenian specialists, technical support and consulting.
