Within the framework of the visit to the Kingdom of Belgium President Serzh Sargsyan had a meeting with the Trade Commissioner of the European Commission, Karel De Gucht.
According to President’s press office, issues related to the process of signing a free trade agreement with the European Union were discussed.
President Sargsyan said Armenia highly signifies the signing of the agreement, since the European Union is one of our most major trade partners. The President noted that ever since joining the World Trade Organization in 2003, Armenia has implemented serious reforms in the sphere and has taken consistent steps to meet the standards of the European Commission.
“Well aware of the difficulties connected with signing of the agreement, we anticipate your practical assistance for reaching results as soon as possible,” Serzh Sargsyan said.
