Armenia: 2010 - promising year for tourism

As compared to last year, the number of tourists arriving in Armenia has considerably increased this year, the president of the association of hotels Hakob Hakobyan told reporters today.

According to him, the number of tourists fell in 2009 due to the economic crisis, while 2008 was a good year for tourism. H. Hakobyan said, the indices of 2008 and 2010 are nearly the same and 2010 is a promising year for tourism.

According to him, the annual hotel occupancy is 50-70% in Armenia.
