The wild ticks disperse African plague, Grigor Bagyan, the head of food department of Agriculture Ministry told reporters Wednesday.
He said wild ticks get infected while they’re mixed with sick swine. They can hold that virus for 10-12 years, make thousands swine infected.
G. Bagyan said African plague was recorded in Armenia in 2007 from Georgia. He said in 2007 Armenia’s Government approved the project to fight against the African plague.
The official source said in 2008-2009 they thought the disease was fought but in March of 2010 they’ve recorded new cases of African plague.
The bad news is that this disease according to Bagyan doesn’t have any vaccine or curing medicament.
