Forbes magazine published its list of Best Countries for Business. The ranking examines 128 economies. Other factors include red tape, investor protection and stock market performance. The publishers leaned on research and published reports from the Central Intelligence Agency, Freedom House, Heritage Foundation, Property Rights Alliance, Transparency International, World Bank and World Economic Forum to compile the rankings.
Former USSR countries include Lithuania – 32, Latvia – 41, Georgia – 61, Kazakhstan – 72, Azerbaijan – 79, Armenia – 96, Russia – 97, Ukraine – 98, Kyrgyzstan – 106, Tajikistan – 121.
The top countries to lead the list are Denmark, Hong Kong, New Zealand, Canada. U.S. dropped from No. 2 to No. 9.
