Minister of Finance: Minimum wage not to increase in 2012

We should not expect a minimum wage increase in Armenia in 2012, Minister of Finance Vache Gabrielyan said in the parliament, while presenting the draft state budget for 2012.

“Wage increase could damage economic growth. Therefore, we think it is not expedient to increase minimum wage for the present,” the Minister said. “Wage rate increased in 2009-2010 in the general economy in Armenia, with average salary amounting to AMD 108 000 in 2011.”
