S. Sargsyan: I’m optimistic with future of Armenian-Lebanese relations

“The political relations of Armenia and Lebanon are on their highest level, evidence of which are active contacts and mutual visits,” Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan stated in a joint news conference with his Lebanese counterpart Michel Suleiman.

During the negotiations the presidents have signified agenda of Armenian-Lebanese relations and perspectives of their development. Armenia and Lebanon have three dozen documents signed, which cover different fields, and on the sidelines of Michel Suleiman’s visit seven more documents have been signed.

“Today, Lebanon is the 5th investor country in Armenia,” said President Sargsyan and added: “But still we’re far from the figures satisfying us, thus we’ve once again focused on mutual trade and investment impetus issues.”

Armenian President, on behalf of Armenian people, has thanked Lebanon, as the Parliament has recognized Armenian Genocide, and thanked his counterpart for supporting Lebanese Armenian community to hold events in Beirut on each April 24.
President Sargsyan concluded he was optimistic with the future of Armenian-Lebanese relations.
