Turkey alarmed by Boyer's candidature

 Valerie Boyer, representative of France’s ex-president Nicolas Sarkozy’s “People’s movement union” (UMP) Party, author of the bill criminalizing the denial of Armenian Genocide, has run for parliamentary elections.

Turkish “Sondakika” news site said French MP, renowned French Armenian political and state figure Patrick Devejian is actively engaged in the election campaign and supports Mrs Boyer.

Turkish media describes Devejian as a person having great influence on France’s political life. Hence, Ankara is alarmed that backing Boyer she will return to her mission in the Parliament.
