Georgian citizens of Armenian descent detained by Azerbaijan for trespassing border

Azerbaijan’s State Border Service detained 6 Georgian citizens – 3 of them Armenians – for trespassing Azerbaijan’s state border.

Azeri media reports say the Georgian citizens were detained “while violating the state border in a rubber and an iron boat.”

Zurab Khikhityashvili, Nodar Gogiladze, Valeri Zabiyev, Eduard Arzumov, Sergei Lekhandiyan and Misha Sarkisyan were held near Lake Jandari on Georgian-Azerbaijani border.

An investigation is underway into the incident, 1news.az said.
