Levon Ter-Petrosyan to make public his decision two days later

One-sided pro-Western and pro-Russian positions are both destructive, but anti-American and anti-Russian policies are even more destructive, first President of Armenia, Armenian National Congress (ANC) leader Levon Ter-Petrosyan said in his speech at the Armenian National Movement (ANM) party’s convention. 

“So, Armenia should not choose the way of either anti-American or anti-Russian orientation,” he added.

According to Ter-Petrosyan, no country can make somebody president in any country. He mentioned the example of Yushchenko, who is said to have been made president by Russia, or Saakashvili - by the U.S.

“Those who assert it understand nothing in politics,” he stated.

Addressing those gathered, he said, smiling, “I understand that you expect something different from me. But I must disappoint you because I have applied to all superpowers. They are beating their brains out developing that strategy. I promise to give an answer two days later.”
