Hayrikyan to stay at intensive care unit for 3 days

It will take 7 to 10 days for Paruyr Hayrikyan to recover after surgery, deputy director of Surb Grigor Lusavorich Medical Center Gagik Manukyan told reporters.

Hayrikyan was operated on this morning and the bullet was removed from his body, Manukyan said.

The patient’s condition is satisfactory. He is at the intensive care unit and will stay there for 3 days, said the physician.

Armenian presidential candidate, chairman of National Self-Determination Union Paruyr Hayrikyan was shot and wounded by unknown gunmen in Yerevan late on Thursday evening.

A criminal case was opened in connection with the incident.
