Assad shot by Iranian bodyguard?

Syrian President Bashar al-Assad was shot by one of his Iranian bodyguards Saturday night, Tabnak.ir reported, citing Arab and Israeli sources.

He was taken to a Damascus hospital, Alarab reported.

The Iranian website questions the reliability of this information, noting that this was an attempt to exert a psychological pressure on Iran and Syria.

Sources close to the Syrian government say the Syrian leader’s shooting was false, Iran’s news agency Fars reported.
