Armen Proudian fulfills FIDE Master norm

18-year-old Armenian chess player Armen Proudian (Brazil) improved his rating with 14.7 points and fulfilled FIDE Master norm at FIDE Zonal 2.4 Tournament held in Ponta Negra, Brazil. 

Proudian scored 6.5 points out of nine to take ninth place among 84 participants.

Armenian GM Krikor Sevag Mekhitarian (Brazil) was the fourth with the same number of points.

GMs Rafael Leitao and Alexandr Fier (Brazil) scored 7.5 points each and qualified for World Cup 2013.
