About 600 convicts to be released under amnesty

About 600 convicts will be released under the amnesty declared on the occasion of the 22nd anniversary of Armenia’s independence, Armenian Justice Minister Hrayr Tovmasyan told a press briefing in parliament. 

According to the Minister, about another 600 convicts will have their prison terms shortened under the amnesty.

The deadline for the amnesty is December 25, 2013.

Today the National Assembly with an overwhelming majority of votes passed the draft decision introduced by the Armenian President on the declaration of amnesty on the occasion of the 22nd anniversary of Armenia’s independence.
