MP: 2014 budget is aimed at poverty reduction

Currently, the discussions of the draft budget for 2014 and the bill on raising the salaries of government officials are the most important events taking place in our country, member of Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) parliamentary faction Artak Davtyan told reporters today. 

“Salaries of all officials, including MPs, should be raised. If my colleagues are ready to refuse their salary, then I am also ready to do so and direct that sum to the development of culture and to aid for people with disabilities,” the MP said.

According to him, the 2014 budget is aimed at poverty reduction. “This budget is realistic, but some MPs do not share this view, which is a sign of pluralism.”
