U.S. Department of State welcomes Davutoglu’s visit to Armenia

During the daily press briefing, among other issues, U.S. Department of State spokesperson Jen Psaki spoke about Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu’s visit to Armenia.

“Well, we welcome his planned trip and hope his visit will provide an opportunity for dialogue between regional leaders. We continue to urge both Turkey and Armenia to ratify the normalization protocols and to pursue tangible steps, such as opening the border, that can help strengthen ties between neighbors and create jobs and opportunity for the people of both countries. So we certainly support the visit, and we’re hopeful they’ll be able to move the process forward,” she said.

Davutoglu arrived in Yerevan to attend the 29th meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC) member states.
