Investigation underway into assault against MP Aram Manukyan

The Arabkir Investigation Department of Yerevan Police is preparing materials over the assault against Armenian National Congress MP Aram Manukyan, a spokeswoman for the Investigation Committee, Sona Truzyan, told Panorama.am.

A forensic medical examination will be conducted, she said.

It was found out that there was a video camera at the site of the incident and the tape was sent to the investigation body, the spokeswoman said.

An investigation is underway to clarify the details of the incident.

Secretary of Armenian National Congress faction Aram Manukyan was assaulted by unknown people in Yerevan late on Thursday.

He is now at Republican Medical Center of Yerevan. His son, Aren Manukyan, told Panorama.am that Aram Manukyan was diagnosed with concussion and fracture. “He is undergoing medical examination,” Aren Manukyan said.
