Zhamanak: Armavir mayoral candidate withdraws from race

Manuk Simonyan, a candidate for Armavir mayor, on Monday submitted a petition to quit the election race, Zhamanak reports. A member of the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA), Simonyan expected to get the assistance of Armavir governor and his withdrawal could be due to the fact that he did not receive the promised assistance.

Armavir will hold mayoral elections on March 15, with the election campaign launching on February 25. Five candidates have remained in the race.
