Lawyer Hayk Alumyan not allowed to visit Ara Budaghyan detained over Syunik governor attempted murder

Defense lawyer Hayk Alumyan was not allowed once again to visit his client Ara Budaghyan this morning. Budaghyan was detained on suspicion of being involved in the attempted murder of Suren Khachatryan, Governor of Armenia’s Synuk province, in May 2015.  
 
Lawyer Hayk Alumyan told Panorama.am that last night he waited until 1 pm outside the building of the National Security Service (NSS) of Armenia so as meet with A. Budaghyan, but he was not allowed to do so. The lawyer said he was promised that he could see Budaghyan at 10 am today. 
 
As was reported, National Security Service (NSS) officers detained yesterday on July 3 four men suspected of involvement in the attempted murder of Syunik governor Suren Khachatryan. Panorama.am learned from NSS Investigative Department that the detained suspects are Garen Aghajanyan and Henrik Avagyan, both residents of the city of Kapan in Syunik province, as well as Vitaly Minasyan and Ara Budaghyan from the city of Goris.
