Haykakan Zhamanak: Internal investigation launched into Republic Square incident

A correspondent of ‘Haykakan Zhamanak’ yesterday caught on camera the scene when a police lieutenant hit a man who was about 70 years old. The incident occurred during a rally held by Stand Up, Armenia initiative when a clash broke out between police and demonstrators.

The head of the Armenian police press service Ashot Aharonyan told the paper’s correspondent that an internal investigation into the incident was launched.
