How ARFD will combat possible rigging during constitutional referendum in Armenia: Rustamyan

“It is very important for us that the constitutional reform in Armenia be approved. No less important is that fact that the referendum should pass successfully and be a fair one,” the secretary of ARF-Dashnaktsutyun   ARFD) parliamentary faction Aghvan Vardanyan told a press conference today.

“For this purpose we will exercise control at the polling stations,” he said noting that it is impossible to achieve a 100% fair, free and transparent vote.

When asked how ARFD is going to combat possible rigging, the head of ARFD faction Armen Rustamyan said: “We will struggle at the polling stations. Any mechanisms are senseless if a political force is not represented at polling stations”.  He said that ARFD has two representatives at each polling station.

Commenting on cliams that rigging is inevitable during the upcoming referendum in Armenia on December 6, Armen Rustamyan said: “Control over everything is needed at the polling stations to prevent bribes and multiple voting”.

The Armenian president set December 6, 2015 as the date for the constitutional referendum in Armenia. The campaign began on October 10 and will end at midnight, December 4.
