Some motorways in Armenia closed or barely passable

There were closed and barely passable roads in Armenia as of 10:00 am today, on January 27, according to the press service of Ministry of Territorial Administration and Emergency Situations.

The following motorways are closed: Hrazdan-Jraratavan, Berd-Chambarak, Tashir-Privolnoye, and Vardeniats mountain pass.

Barely passable  are serpentine  roads in Dilijan (for trucks), motorways in Kotayk, Aragatsotn, Syunik, Tavush, Vayots Dzor, Gegharkunik, Lori and Shirak provinces. These roads are covered with black ice.

Areni-Khachik motorway (8th-9th kilometer) in Vayots Dzor province is closed in one direction.

Stepantsminda-Lars highway is  open to all types of vehicles with antiskid chains, Emergency Situations Department of Georgia’s Interior Ministry said.
