Karabakh Defense Army: Azerbaijan attempts subversive raid

On March 8 at about 23:20 Azerbaijani troops made an attempt of subversive infiltration in the Southeastern direction of the Line of Contact, press service of Defense Ministry of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic informs. 
The frontline units of NKR Defense Army promptly detected the Azerbaijani special units’ attempts to advance. The enemy retreated. Defense Army of the NKR did not suffer losses in the skirmish.

According to the relevant agencies of the Defense Army, the Azerbaijani forces suffered losses, while retreating. The details of the incident are being clarified, the report says.

On the night of March 7 – March 8 the adversary fired over 12000 shots using weapons of different calibers on the Line of Contact between Nagorno-Karabakh and Azerbaijan. The Defense Army’s frontline units responded proportionately.

The Defence Army also refuted reports disseminated by Azerbaijani Mass Media that the Armenian side had allegedly opened fired on herdsmen in the village of Chaylu.

The Defence Ministry dismisses the reports as disinformation and reiterates its commitment not to fire at civilians.
