Fake Hennessey cognac in Armenian market

Officers of Police General Department for Combating Organized Crime recently revealed cases of cognac sales without excise label.

According to public and information administration department of the Police, data was obtained that fake French Hennessey cognac excised in the RF is being sold. The data was obtained in collaboration with the Police department of Ararat and Artashat division.

On March 16 Artashat division detained A.B. The preliminary investigations showed that together with his friend they sold 83 bottles of Hennessey cognac without excise labels. The detainee explained that the fake bottles were obtained from Russia.

It was also revealed that in order to conceal their illegal activities they’ve created several Limited Liability Companies.

Fake cognac bottles were confiscated and a criminal case opened.
