Economist: Iran realizes it may build relations with Armenia

“I do not want to convey pessimistic moods to our society and decision-makers, yet is evident that at this point Armenia does not benefit from the big political games and clashes of interests underway in our small region,” economist Vardan Bostanjyan told reporters while commenting on the state of Armenian economy amid the country’s joining the Eurasian Economic Union.

To the economist’s words, in a wider context Armenia is placed out of the ongoing developments.

“We should think, however, that the Islamic Republic of Iran is a serious state and naturally it pursues its leverage and security in the region. In that respect it realized it may build relations with Armenia. Regretfully, Armenia has not yet allocated time to regulate a due policy and its perspectives over that,” the economist stressed.
