Round 3 of Tata Steel chess tournament took place on Monday in Netherlands. According to the Chess Federation of Armenia, in this round Levon Aronian’s rival was GM Adhiban Baskaran of India. A draw was agreed on move 38.
Sole leader of the tournament Pavel Eljanov of Ukraine made a draw in the game against Pentala Harikrishna of India.
World Champion Magnus Carlsen also made a draw: his opponent was Dmitry Andreikin of Russia. GMs Wesley So, Sergei Karjakin and Wei Yi celebrated their first victories in the tournament. After 3 rounds Pavel Eljanov of Ukraine is still solely leading the table. He got 2.5 points out of three. 5 players – Magnus Carlsen, Wesley So, Sergei Karjakin, Pentala Harikrishna and Wey Yi got 2 points. Levon Aronian has 1.5 points and is on the 7th place.
In round 4 Aronian’s rival will be Ian Nepomniachtchi of Russia.
