Women’s World Chess Championship kicks off in Tehran

The Women’s World Championship 2017 will be played from February 10 to March 5 in Tehran, Iran. At the 64-player knock-out tournament Armenia is represented by two players – Elina Danileyan and Lilit Mkrtchyan.  As the National Olympic Committee of Armenia reports, at the 1/32 stage Danielyan will face Padmini Rout of India, while Mkrtchyan is set to play with Ni Shiqun of China. 

From the round 1/32 the tournament will be played over two games with a tie break to be played in case of a draw. The final match will be played over four games.
