Aronian suffers defeat, takes the 13th place in Sharjah Grand Prix

FIDE Grand Prix chess tournament ended in Sharjah. In final Round 9, Armenian GM Levon Aronian competed with Ding Liren of China.

The Armenian GM, who had ended all his games of the previous eight rounds in draws, lost his game in the final round playing with white pieces and took the 13th positions with 4 points.

Maxime Vachier-Lagrave, Alexander Grischuk and Shakhriyar Mamedyarov share 1-3 places with 5.5 points apiece.
