Armenian woman wounded in Egypt beach resort stabbing to be transported to Yerevan

Armenian Minister of Health Levon Altunyan asked Ambassador of Armenia to Egypt Armen Melkonian about the health condition of the Armenian woman wounded in a knife attack at an Egyptian Red Sea resort in Hurghada on July 14.

The Ambassador informed that the Armenian citizen is under recovery, adding that according to the Egyptian specialists she can already be transported to Armenia.

The patient has been under the spotlight of the Armenian Embassy in Egypt during her treatment.

Levon Altunyan tasked the heads of the ministry’s relevant divisions to hold a meeting of specialists following the transportation of the injured woman to Armenia, assess her health condition and report him on the process of the patient’s further treatment.

To remind, Armenia’s Ministry of Health dispatched Professor Artak Hovhannisyan (working at Erebuni Medical Center) to Cairo to help the Armenian tourist to recover. While in Egypt, the professor observed positive dynamics in the tourist’s health condition. On 9 August she was transferred to the general ward from the intensive care unit.
