Levon Aronian, Ding Liren to play tiebreaks to decide the winner of FIDE World Cup 2017
The fourth game of the World Cup final match was played in the Biltmore Hotel in Tbilisi on September 26. Playing with Black pieces, Armenian GM Levon Aronian got pleasant position out of the opening. However, after 52 moves the players agreed on a draw due to Ding’s well-planned defense strategy, chess federation reported.
To note, with all the four classical games ending in draws, the winner will be determined on tiebreak to be played today with quicker time controls.
