The prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages reduced by 1.2% in Armenia in April 2018 to compare with April of the previous year, which was mainly prompted by 5.3% and 3.1% deflation in vegetable, dairy products, cheese, egg products.
According to the data released by the National Statistical Service (NSS), 12.3% deflation was recorded in vegetable product group in Armenia in April 2018 compared to prices recorded last year and 8.3-3.7% decline to prices of March of the current year.
According to the NSS data, the prices for dairy products, cheese and egg product groups rose by 2% in April 2018 to compare with the same period of 2017 and 11.9% deflation to compare with March of the ongoing year.
The NSS data indicates 4.5% increase in prices for fruit to compare with the data of 2017 and 1.5% against the prices recorded in March of the ongoing year.
