Decline in canned food production volumes recorded in Armenia

Processing companies operating in Armenia dropped the production volumes of canned products. As Panorama.am learn from the National Statistical Service (NSS), a total of 1 634.2 tons of canned products have been produced in Armenia in January -April 2018, a 20.16 % decline to compare with the volumes produced during the indicated period of the year before.

According to the released data, a total of 819.7 tons of canned vegetables were produced in the accounting period - a 27.6 1% decline compared to 1 131.6 tons produced in January-April 2017.

The canned fish production dropped by 34.6%, constituting 81.5 tones, while fruit production in the indicated period made up 613.2 tones, constituting 53.7% decline.

According to the statistics, a total of 5.1 tons canned tomato paste was manufactured in the reporting period, which is a 33.8% rise over the past year's volumes. Some է 162.4 tons of ketchup were produced within the first four months of the current year against the 112.8 tons produced in January-April 2017.
