Parliament fails to elect Vahe Grigoryan as Constitutional Court judge

The Armenian National Assembly failed to elect attorney Vahe Grigoryan as a new judge of the Constitutional Court at its regular session on Tuesday.

Only 53 out of the overall 105 MPs took part in the secret voting, Gagik Melikyan, the head of the counting commission, said, presenting the election outcome.

30 MPs voted in favor, while 23 voted against Grigoryan’s candidacy, he said.

The attorney needed 63 votes to be confirmed as a judge for the court.
