The Artsakh parliament has unanimously backed Artak Beglaryan as the new Human Rights Defender (Ombudsman) of the country.
He was elected with 29 votes in favor and no votes against in a secret voting held on Wednesday, the head of the counting committee said.
Beglaryan pledged to adhere to the Artsakh Constitution, laws and the principles of justice.
He will replace Ruben Melikyan who stepped down as the Artsakh Ombudsman on 26 September.
